Laverne & Shirley was primarily filmed at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood, California. Milwaukee, Wisconsin was used only for establishing shots, and the iconic opening credits.
Paramount’s New York Street encompasses a 5-acre site that recreates eight distinct areas of the city, in addition to the Chicago section which resembles common architectural styles found in the Midwest. My green flag-pin points to Laverne & Shirley's apartment building located on Washington Square, where the very beginning of the opening credits were filmed.
